Yau Tam Mei Village Pumping Station Upgrade in Hong Kong, China

◎ Models Installed:

AF Series - Submersible Sewage / Wastewater Pumps

◎ Description:

Located near a river, Yau Tam Mei Village in Yuen Long, Hong Kong, faces flooding risks during heavy rainfall. The local government implemented a river flow diversion mechanism at the pumping station, where rainwater is conveyed to a water reclamation center for reuse, strengthening flood control and advancing water sustainability. The upgrade was prompted by the failure of the existing submersible pumps from another brand. Difficult maintenance and long lead times increased the risk of downtime in the flood control system. The existing pumping station was upgraded with two units of HCP 150(200)AFE415 pumps, providing a drainage capacity of 150 m³/h. By using the existing Guide Rail System (GRS), the installation was completed without significant piping modifications, shortening the installation period and reducing the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall. The pumped rainwater is then transferred to the water recla mation system for reclaimed water use and irrigation, demonstrating HCP PUMP's expertise in flood control, drainage, and sustainable water resource utilization.
